Basic Obedience training and socialization should begin as soon as possible! A common lingering myth pertaining to dogs is that training shouldn’t begin until after six months of age. However, by this time the primary development stages have long passed and habits, good or bad, have already begun to take hold. The truth is, the sooner you start training, socializing, and introducing your puppy to new things and what is expected of her/him, the better chance you will have at preventing unwanted behaviors and situations with your new four legged family member.
The sessions will be broken up for brief discussions covering on how dogs learn, a dog’s needs, relationship with your pooch and equipment usage. I will work with you socialization and teaching your puppy basic commands that are important so that he/she understands what is expected as being a member of the family. Topics covered are various forms of socialization, housebreaking, mouthing, jumping up, as well as, basic commands of sit, down, attention, puppy recall, walking on a loose leash.
Only pre-requisite: shots up to date and it is suggested a crate be available for crate training (I can also help with picking one out if needed). The cost for puppy class is $125.00 dollars.
At work all day and can’t let your puppy out? One of the toughest things about adopting a new puppy is potty training and being available to let him/her outside when mother nature is calling. Typically, a puppy during this period should be let out often. The longest interval between potty breaks shouldn’t be any longer than every 2-3 hours. In addition, this is a period for the puppy that rapid learning occurs and what they learn will have a lasting impact, therefore, socialization and training is a must. If this is someone you need help with, I can assist by coming to your house, and give your puppy that needed potty break, and assisting with housetraining, socialization and basic commands. The service would be an hour of time with your puppy for $25.00 a visit.
Pre-requisite: A crate for your puppy is suggested.
